Veterans Medical Fund

The Royal British Legion's Veterans Medical Fund programme offers support to ex-Service personnel who have a serious physical injury or suffer from hearing loss acquired in Service. It offers support for hearing loss and mobility.

The fund was designed in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence (MOD), National Health Service (NHS), Department of Health and specialists in the medical and Armed Forces charity sectors. The fund is available to veterans across the UK and aims to support those whose needs cannot be met through statutory services.

How can I apply for help with hearing loss?

*Due to the high level of demand, The Royal British Legion are regretfully unable to accept any new applications to the Veterans Hearing Fund for the time being.*

The Royal British Legion has had the pleasure of administering the Veterans Hearing Fund on behalf of HM Treasury since 2015. During this time they issued 2,400 grants ensuring that those whose hearing loss was acquired during their service were able to receive hearing devices, peripherals and therapies that are not available through the NHS.

Demand for the programme has grown throughout the years that they administered the fund, demonstrating the real need of those with hearing difficulties in the Armed Forces community. To find out more about the fund, and why the The Royal British Legion have had to suspend new applications, visit their site.

Should any new applicants wish to register their interest for the Veterans Hearing Fund in the meantime, email your details to medicalfunds@britishlegion.org.uk or contact 0808 802 8080 to ensure you are included in any updates they send out. Please include a postal or email address for this.
