In Wales, The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act came into effect in 2016. It safeguards the wellbeing of people who need care and support and the carers that support them. The Act replaces most community care legislation in Wales. Visit the Welsh Government website for more information.
Paying for social care
From April 10th 2017, compensation awarded to veterans in England will be exempt from financial assessments for social care support. This means that veterans will no longer have to surrender large amounts of their compensation payments to pay for social care.
