Erskine helps honour the ones who didn't come home by helping care for the ones who did. Proud to have served the ex-Service community since 1916, the charity has now cared for over 105,000 veterans, and is Scotland's foremost provider of care for veterans and their spouses.

Today Erskine offers nursing, respite, residential and dementia care in single en-suite bedrooms in our four care homes across Scotland. The homes are situated in Bishopton, Glasgow and Edinburgh and are open to veterans who have served in the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force including National Service, and the spouses of veterans.

Erskine homes are about more than just nursing care. We strive to make life as enjoyable as possible for all our residents. There is a significant focus on recreational activity, including games, entertainment and trips to a variety of destinations at no extra cost. All Erskine staff are trained to focus on delivering high quality, person-centred care.

Long before Veterans need Erskine's nursing care, they might need help finding employment, housing and friendship. The Erskine Veterans' Village has 44 beautiful family bungalows. We also offer 24 en suite apartments to younger Veterans who, for various reasons leave the military unexpectedly. These young Veterans can use the bespoke apartments as safe bases from which to recuperate, reflect and re-train, before the next chapter of their lives. We will help them to network and gain job skills with us, or our local business and government partners. This will help them find a new job and home in their preferred location.

Veterans can suffer from isolation and loneliness, when years of service and productivity, alongside military comrades, finally ends. Our Erskine residents benefit enormously from our daily offering of stimulating, meaningful activities and therapeutic sessions, now extended to Veterans in the wider community. The Erskine Veterans Activity Centre, weekly welcomes 150 members, of all ages, to enjoy hot lunches, woodworking, music, archery, rambling, computing, arts, crafts, casework support and relaxation therapy, alongside like-minded souls with a shared heritage. Members describe this service as "Life-changing and life-saving"! We are therefore seeking similar, characterful venues across Scotland, from which to extend these impactful services to Veterans who are isolated and lonely.
