ABF The Soldiers’ Charity offer a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families when in need. They can provide grants to veterans and their dependants to help them find meaningful employment after Service.
Amicus Trust provide up to two years' accommodation for veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We also offer a range of services in education, employment, mental health and life skills to support individuals as they rebuild their life.
Building Heroes offers Veterans and Service leavers the opportunity to retrain for a career in construction at their regional delivery centres. They provide a five week foundation course in Property Maintenance, plus the support required to help you into employment, self-employment, or further training. Some courses are linked to specific employers, providing a guaranteed job on graduation, while others offer the freedom to choose your own career path. Building Heroes will discuss the options with you when you apply and offer you the support you need to achieve a positive outcome.

A Veteran Specialist is available by appointment. The Veteran Specialist can advise on housing, can help complete forms and give extra support with issues such as benefit entitlement.

Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire
EFSNY offers a range of help and support for past members of the Armed Forces over 65 in North Yorkshire. We have a range of free support on offer to enable older veterans to live well in later life. This ranges from being able to attend groups and workshops, to healthy lifestyle advice, to befriending and volunteering, gardening, benefits and financial support, home handyman and small improvements service, and much more.
Services at Finchale include accommodation and housing; offering a bespoke service towards sourcing sustainable accommodation; employability and training; CV building, job applications, interview and confidence techniques. It also offers support towards mental and physical health issues. Support is further extended to families and reservists. Finchale also works collaboratively with external agencies to support and provide guidance to veterans with a wide range of issues.
Foot in the Door Films
Provides services that include employability information, career pathway options within the Digital & Creative Sector, workshops in employability skills and preparation, training in Film Production and Audition Techniques, opportunities to gain work experience in film production, and signposting for mental health support and benefit maximisation.
Forward Assist engages former servicemen and women in community engagement projects to utilise their valuable transferrable skills, creating life changing employment, volunteering, education and training opportunities.
Future for Heroes
F4H aims to develop the ability of service leavers and retired members of the armed forces of all ranks and status, and their spouses or partners where appropriate, to manage the dramatic change in cultures when resuming civilian life, ensuring they are better able to identify their own needs and thereby fully participate in society. Helps with training, and developing confidence and coping mechanisms.
HighGround provides advice and support to Service Leavers and Veterans of all ranks and ages about jobs, careers and vocational opportunities in the land-based sector. They also deliver 'Rural Weeks' at Bicton College in Devon throughout the year.
Launchpad offers 50 self-contained flats in Speke House, Liverpool and another 30 in Avondale House, Newcastle. Several members of staff support the residents in each house during the daytime and they help the veterans make a lasting transition to civilian life, helping them with finances, including benefits and job hunting. The staff signpost the veterans to specialists who can help them with welfare, health, training and housing, among other things. Residents do pay a rent which is covered by housing benefit until individuals are employed.

Links Combined Forces
Combined Forces is a support service for ex-Service personnel based in Llanelli and encompassing Carmarthenshire.
The Scottish Government is committed to making sure no member of the Armed Forces veterans community in Scotland faces any disadvantage when accessing services and support. The Scottish Government has also appointed a Scottish Veterans Commissioner whose remit is to improve outcomes for all veterans. The commissioner is independent of the government and has his own dedicated funding. Veterans in Scotland can get support for healthcare, housing, funding for education and training, employability, Armed Forces pensions, and referrals to other organisations.

Outside the Wire
Outside the Wire is a bespoke alcohol, drug and PTSD service, offering confidential advice and support to current and ex HM Forces personnel and their families across Norfolk, Suffolk & Essex.
All our staff are ex-forces, and can offer innovative, comprehensive support, including confidential meetings at a location of your choice. We are sensitive to the complexities of military life and the often understandable resistance to admitting the extent of personal issues, especially those relating to PTSD, substance misuse and general mental health plus concerns around personal relationships.
The Poppy Factory
The Poppy Factory helps to find work for veterans with a physical or mental health condition, regardless of whether the illness or injury is as a result of their service. An employability consultant (available nationally) will meet with veterans in their local communities. They will assist the veteran in searching for jobs which are suitable and rewarding for the individual.

RAF Families Federation
The RAF Families Federation acts as an independent voice for serving personnel and their families with any issues or concerns they may experience throughout their career in the RAF. This could include policy issues, health, education or employment challenges and all are dealt with confidentially. We also help individuals transition out of the RAF and families too. All evidence we gather is formalised, and any key themes are pulled out and raised in order to influence policy change at a government level.
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust (RNBT)
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust (RNBT) supports those who are serving or have served as Warrant Officers and below in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines , and their dependants, who find themselves in need or distress. They offer grants to individuals on a case by case basis. They may be able to provide funding for training, courses and associated costs.

Supporting veterans and direct family members, who face health, housing, financial and social problems by providing confidential practical support to get their voice heard. We are aware that some veterans struggle to access services and support needed to maintain civilian life. Experienced staff offer tailored one-to-one support which seeks to: improve access to and experiences of mainstream services; maximise income; have needs and views respected; ensure rights under the Armed Forces Covenant are understood; improve mental health through increased confidence.
Skills Development Scotland
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is Scotland's national skills body. We offer a range of services to help people of all ages with skills and employment, including those leaving the Armed Forces. From SDS's centres, you can access free career guidance, CV support, advice on apprenticeships, information on local opportunities and more to help make the transition to Civvy Street easier. Sporting Force supports ex-Service personnel who have been wounded, injured or become sick during service by offering a route into civilian employment within the professional sports industry. They also provide education, exercise and social events to veterans and their families to relieve mental health issues and feelings of social isolation.
Venture Trust is a Scottish charity organisation providing specialist support to ex-service men and women struggling with the transition to civilian life. Venture Trust’s Positive Futures programme for veterans offers three phase personal development and early stage employability programmes, centred on an intensive wilderness based personal development journey. The programme is based in Scotland but is available to all UK veterans.
Veterans Assist Scotland
Veterans Assist Scotland is an online information hub and signposting service for veterans and those supporting veterans. They can provide contact details for the various Armed Forces and Veterans Champions, employment information, housing options, as well as information on public and voluntary sector support across Scotland, based on specific needs.
Veterans Community Hub
Veterans Community Hub offers an informal space in Hull for ex-servicemen and women. Help is offered with employability, homelessness, social isolation, outreach and family support.
Veterans Contact Point
Veterans Contact Point aims to help all serving members and veterans of the UK Armed Forces, their spouses, and dependents by working in partnership with others and other organisations to assist in the provision of schemes, grants, and services for their resettlement, rehabilitation, retraining, employment, and ongoing welfare. The service is available across the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire areas.
Veterans First Point
Veterans First Point helps veterans "whatever their needs may be". We meet clinical needs and also provide wider support and advice. We provide peer support worker-led caseload management of welfare issues including housing, finance, employment, independent living and families. Our clinicians also provide mental health assessment and treatments, via psychiatrists and psychologists. Veterans can self refer via drop- ins, phone and email. We also accept referrals through GPs and other agencies and provide in-house clinics from Citizen's Advice Bureau, Veterans UK and the Armed Services Advice Project.
Veterans HQ is a free and accessible one stop centre of support for ex-Armed Forces personnel, reservists and their families. The centre is run by a team of friendly staff who can provide information, advice and support on many areas relevant to the Armed Forces community such as welfare and benefits, housing, health and wellbeing, and employability. Drop-in sessions are available to those who need help with job applications and there is also a Custody Co-ordinator on-site for those who are in, or about to leave the criminal justice system. Veterans HQ also offer a health and wellbeing programme that includes access to a fitness centre, social activities, counselling and group therapy.
Veterans Employment Transition Support (VETS)
VETS is a coalition of partners who support all veterans as they seek to find the right job. The coalition consists of corporates from all industries, military charities, the MOD and the Career Transition Partnership. Together, through VETS, they provide an holistic approach that enhances existing activities. VETS recognises that every veteran's journey is unique. Therefore fundamental to the initiative is one-to-one mentorship throughout. Veterans can match with a mentor, find CV & interview workshops and apply for jobs. The VETS initiative continues to seek corporate and charity partners who share their passion for employing veterans.
West London Mission
The West London Mission (WLM) has been serving people affected by homelessness, poverty and trauma since 1887. We are part of the Methodist Church and run a wide range of services which empower people to live more fulfilling lives.
Wirral Military Community Services
Wirral Military Community Services offer veteran outreach; one-stop Shop & Drop-In; employment support; enterprise start-up; signposting to Local Agencies; welfare benefits advice; MoD welfare pension advice drop-in; housing advice and support; healthy living advice and support; diet and PT advice; access to holistic therapies; and engaging with a diverse range of community-based projects.
Woody's Lodge is a support project for armed forces veterans, recent leavers, reservists and those serving in the emergency services. We provide friendships, humour, banter and 'brews', while ensuring your peace and safety, while allowing you to get on with day to day life at a place where listening and laughter play a big role in our daily activity. Woody's Lodge also helps with form filling (online and paper) with regards to appropriate benefits and entitlements.
