The Defence Discount Service (DDS) offers members of the Armed Forces community, including Veterans, discounts both online and on the high street, as part of the Armed Forces Covenant across the UK.
The Defence Privilege Card is the official recognition card for members of Defence Discount Service and allows its members to save on the high street in shops, restaurants and venues.
Thanks to a partnership with the Veterans’ Gateway, you can apply for a free Defence Privilege Card if you are a HM Armed Forces veteran. The card usually costs £4.99. You can use this card in participating shops and restaurants nationwide to get a discount.
For those who apply through the Veterans’ Gateway, a free Defence Privilege Card is available until 2019 and is valid for five years. Thereafter, you will need to renew it. There is a cap on free cards available each year.
