Age UK's vision is to make the UK a great place to grow older. We do this by inspiring, supporting and enabling in a number of ways, including projects for veterans. The Age UK network includes Age Cymru, Age NI, and Age Scotland and more than 150 local Age UKs throughout England.
Amicus Trust provide up to two years' accommodation for veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We also offer a range of services in education, employment, mental health and life skills to support individuals as they rebuild their life.

Armed Forces CU is a free employee benefit which encourages Veterans (in receipt of an MOD Pension) to prepare for the future by helping them to save. Building Heroes offers Veterans and Service leavers the opportunity to retrain for a career in construction at their regional delivery centres. They provide a five week foundation course in Property Maintenance, plus the support required to help you into employment, self-employment, or further training. Some courses are linked to specific employers, providing a guaranteed job on graduation, while others offer the freedom to choose your own career path. Building Heroes will discuss the options with you when you apply and offer you the support you need to achieve a positive outcome.
Burnley Football Club in the Community
The Burnley Football Club runs a number of sessions that can be accessed by Veterans to enhance their mental and physical wellbeing.
Cardiff Central Library Hub
A Veteran Specialist is available by appointment. The Veteran Specialist can advise on housing, can help complete forms and give extra support with issues such as benefit entitlement.
The Castlehill Foundation provides activities and services to victims and survivors affected by The Troubles such as, counselling, complementary therapies, social support, respite, carers support, befriending and welfare and benefits advice. There is also a drop-in service and opportunities to attend coffee evenings.
Centre for Veterans' Health
The Centre for Veterans Health at King Edward VII's Hospital helps veterans through specialist treatment tailored to their needs. The Centre offers means tested grants to help with up to 100% of the costs associated with procedures, a further 20% discount given automatically to military personnel, veterans, their spouses or widows, a five day pain management programme, and a specialist pain consultant to help with recovery.

The CWGC honours the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars. Our work commemorates the war dead, from building and maintaining our cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries to preservation of our extensive records and archives.
Confide Counselling Service
Confide provide face to face and telephone counselling to armed service personal, reservists, veterans and their families. Clients can receive up to eight sessions with a qualified counsellor completely free, with discretion for further sessions based on evidence of need. Confide is an independent organisation, not formally linked to the military and any counselling undertaken is completely confidential. The service is committed to equality and diversity working with clients from all backgrounds and characteristics and from age 11 upwards.
Contact is a group of military charities (Help for Heroes, Combat Stress, Walking with the Wounded and The Royal British Legion) and other entities including Big White Wall, King’s College London and Royal College of Psychiatrists working with the NHS and the MOD. Deptherapy seeks to rehabilitate UK armed service personnel and veterans who have suffered life-changing physical and or mental injuries and illnesses, through the medium of specially designed scuba programmes.
The Ely Centre was established after the Enniskillen Poppy Day Bombing on 08 Nov 17, to provide support to personnel injured in this incident and has widened its service to include support to veterans, police and civilians injured as a result of the troubles in NI. We offer, mental health support, health and wellbeing support, counselling, alternative therapies, respite trips financial advice and assistance with benefits and war disability pensions or AFCS claims.
Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire
EFSNY offers a range of help and support for past members of the Armed Forces over 65 in North Yorkshire. We have a range of free support on offer to enable older veterans to live well in later life. This ranges from being able to attend groups and workshops, to healthy lifestyle advice, to befriending and volunteering, gardening, benefits and financial support, home handyman and small improvements service, and much more.
Felix Fund provides welfare support and financial assistance to serving, ex-Service and SO15 (Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Unit) personnel who have conducted or assisted with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and search duties. This includes all aspects of bomb disposal and search work from the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. Support ranges from financial grants for those in need to wellness breaks and training programmes to help manage trauma and stress.
Services at Finchale include accommodation and housing; offering a bespoke service towards sourcing sustainable accommodation; employability and training; CV building, job applications, interview and confidence techniques. It also offers support towards mental and physical health issues. Support is further extended to families and reservists. Finchale also works collaboratively with external agencies to support and provide guidance to veterans with a wide range of issues.
First Choice Housing Association (FCHA)
FCHA provides supported housing for veterans who are transitioning from military to civilian life. "Ty Dewr" is a 12 bed scheme for veterans who have support requirements and in need of accommodation.

Provides services that include employability information, career pathway options within the Digital & Creative Sector, workshops in employability skills and preparation, training in Film Production and Audition Techniques, opportunities to gain work experience in film production, and signposting for mental health support and benefit maximisation.
The Footprint Trust
Help with energy use in the home on the Isle of Wight. Gives impartial, confidential help to anyone on the Isle of Wight about using heating and energy in the home, to keep warm and well and to avoid debt. Can help with practical support such as tariffs, switching, how to set heating (including night storage heaters), and access to grants such as Warm Home Discount. Can negotiate with Southern Water and energy suppliers on your behalf, if required. Also offers training to ex-Service people on these matters. Help is available by phone or through home visits to people living on the Isle of Wight. Self-referrals accepted.
Forward Assist engages former servicemen and women in community engagement projects to utilise their valuable transferrable skills, creating life changing employment, volunteering, education and training opportunities.
Future for Heroes
F4H aims to develop the ability of service leavers and retired members of the armed forces of all ranks and status, and their spouses or partners where appropriate, to manage the dramatic change in cultures when resuming civilian life, ensuring they are better able to identify their own needs and thereby fully participate in society. Helps with training, and developing confidence and coping mechanisms.
Green Aiders is a FREE one-off, garden clearance visit for elderly residents over 65 who have served in the military. The residents may also be dependants of someone who has served. If you are struggling to keep on top of your garden we can visit you for half a day with a team of volunteers and tidy your garden up to enable you to enjoy the space once more. Further to this, we are recruiting volunteers to make a number of repeat visits after the initial clearance, so that you are able to keep on top of the garden. HighGround provides advice and support to Service Leavers and Veterans of all ranks and ages about jobs, careers and vocational opportunities in the land-based sector. They also deliver 'Rural Weeks' at Bicton College in Devon throughout the year.
Housing Options Scotland (HOS)
Military Matters (MM) is a specialist project within Housing Options Scotland focusing on housing issues affecting people serving in the military in Scotland, service personnel transitioning into civilian life, veterans and dependants. MM also provides housing information, advice and mental wellbeing support.
Launchpad offers 50 self-contained flats in Speke House, Liverpool and another 30 in Avondale House, Newcastle. Several members of staff support the residents in each house during the daytime and they help the veterans make a lasting transition to civilian life, helping them with finances, including benefits and job hunting. The staff signpost the veterans to specialists who can help them with welfare, health, training and housing, among other things. Residents do pay a rent which is covered by housing benefit until individuals are employed.
The League of Remembrance
The League of Remembrance provides veterans, their widows and dependants, the opportunity to continue to contribute to society through volunteering. In addition, you will become part of a 'family' that is now over 100 years old, offering you companionship, welfare support, social events, and modest financial support where appropriate.

Models for Heroes
We provide plastic scale modelling and figure painting supplies, tutoring and therapeutic model making sessions to service charities in the UK. We also provide models and hobby materials following referrals for positive mental wellbeing.
Lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability Scheme with servicing, breakdown assistance and repairs included. Motability is a national charity which oversees the Motability Scheme and may be able to provide a grant towards the Scheme vehicle, car adaptations or driving lessons you need. The Armed Forces Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group supports members of the Military family Affected by MS. They exist for Serving members of the Armed Forces, Veterans, Reserves, dependants and their carers affected by MS. Mutual Support is one of the MS Society’s National Support Groups. Run by volunteers with direct experience of MS and the Armed Forces, it provides services and activities based on what people affected by MS want. A trained team provide the support you need to deal with your situation, and aim to be at the end of the phone when needed.
Mid Ulster Victims Empowerment (MUVE)

The Scottish Government is committed to making sure no member of the Armed Forces veterans community in Scotland faces any disadvantage when accessing services and support. The Scottish Government has also appointed a Scottish Veterans Commissioner whose remit is to improve outcomes for all veterans. The commissioner is independent of the government and has his own dedicated funding. Veterans in Scotland can get support for healthcare, housing, funding for education and training, employability, Armed Forces pensions, and referrals to other organisations.

National Gulf Veterans and Families Association
The NGVFA supports those affected by Gulf War 1, Gulf War 2 (Iraq), Afghanistan, and all future desert conflicts. Many returning home from these conflicts develop health or social problems. The NGVFA helps veterans (whether ill or not), Service personnel who were vaccinated but were non-deployed, Armed Forces personnel who are still serving , family members, widows and widowers, and civilians contracted to the armed forces. They work throughout the UK and abroad.
North Lincolnshire Veterans' Community Hub
The North Lincolnshire Veterans' Community Hub is where you can meet and chat with veterans to share experiences and find support. The hub is also staffed by veterans who volunteer 3 days a week and details of opening hours can be found on the website.
The Not Forgotten Association
The Not Forgotten Association provides recreational and entertainment opportunities to any serving man or woman who is wounded, injured or sick and any veteran of any age with a disability, illness or infirmity. Support is offered through a varied programme of tailored activities and events including Royal Parties, concerts, holidays, outings and the provision of televisions and TV Licences. Each of these activities is intended to restore confidence, enhance wellbeing, boost morale and improve the chances of the individual and their family to enjoy life.
On Course Foundation
The On Course Foundation supports the recovery of injured Service personnel and veterans through golf. They build confidence in wounded, injured and sick (WIS) Service personnel and veterans through golf skills and employment events, setting them on the path to meaningful full time employment opportunities in the golf industry. Golf offers a unique platform where players of all skills and backgrounds can compete healthily, improving not only their physical but mental strength too. Their golf activities aim to restore confidence, providing a sense of purpose to members who once struggled to see hope in their future. It's their aim to help members realise their potential and set them on a fulfilling career path.
The Open University
The Open University is the leading university for flexible, innovative, distance education in the United Kingdom. Uniquely placed to understand the needs of part-time students, learning while earning, our teaching credentials have seen over 2 million students receive an education, otherwise denied to them at campus-based universities. The Disabled Veterans' Scholarships Fund offers 50 disabled veterans, injured in, or due to, military service, access to free Open University education. In addition to free study, applicants will be offered further specialist careers and disability support.
Plane Saver Credit Union
Plane Saver Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, offering an ethical range of savings and loans for Armed Forces personnel straight from their pay (or MoD pension for Veterans). The arrangement, enabled by the Ministry of Defence, aimed to tackle problems faced by Military personnel who may find themselves with limited access to financial services, leaving them a potential target for high cost credit providers such as payday lenders and loan sharks.
A network of 200 therapists trained and regulated by the Human Givens Institute delivering free, one-one therapy promptly, locally, briefly, and effectively to all veterans, reservists and family members.
Rapport Housing and Care
Lawson House is Rapport Housing & Care's new extra care housing scheme in Larkfield, Kent. The scheme comprises 74 one and two bedroom apartments alongside excellent communal facilities. The scheme is for over 55s who could benefit from a little support to remain independent. Twenty of the apartments are reserved for veterans.
We offer a wide range of courses, workshops and activities to support people as they discover and develop their skills and interests on their journey through recovery. All our facilitators are dedicated to recovery and wellbeing and have a range of personal and/or professional experience in adult education, mental health recovery and dual diagnosis.
Our courses are available to anyone, regardless of their experience. All are welcome to attend the college and we promote equality & diversity and support everyone who becomes a student to accomplish their learning and recovery ambitions. We do this by providing a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental learning environment.
Relate offer relationship counselling for individuals and couples, family counselling, mediation, children and young people's counselling and sex therapy. You can talk to a counsellor using live chat or webcam. They also offer telephone counselling, which is like face-to-face counselling at a time that's convenient to you.
A dedicated nurse will assess veterans’ needs and develop a bespoke plan to support them and their family. This involves arranging access to the Living Well Centre/Rowans Hospice facilities like exercise groups, complimentary therapies, carers support group, reminiscence group, bereavement support, future planning, psychology support, crafts or just a listening ear. Home visits are offered plus links to the veterans’ volunteer companions service. This part of the service is a dedicated group of volunteers who are veterans themselves , currently serving personnel or have experience of the Armed Forces.
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust (RNBT)
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust (RNBT) supports those who are serving or have served as Warrant Officers and below in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines , and their dependants, who find themselves in need or distress. They offer grants to individuals on a case by case basis. They may be able to provide funding for training, courses and associated costs.

Scotty's Little Soldiers provides support to children and young people (0-25) who have suffered the loss of a parent serving in the British Armed Forces. Assistance is provided through 4 key programmes and includes respite breaks, group events, a range of development grants and bereavement support.

Service Dogs UK
Service Dogs UK provide and train PTSD Assistance Dogs, selected from rescue, for veterans of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services with a clinical diagnosis of PTSD. They help with regaining independence, renewing a sense of purpose, building confidence, encouraging calmness and other different ways of coping with PTSD. Service Dogs UK provides a training programme over a period of 9 to 12 months under the guidance of professional dog trainers. matching rescue dogs to become an Assistance Dogs Partnership for life. Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is Scotland's national skills body. We offer a range of services to help people of all ages with skills and employment, including those leaving the Armed Forces. Sporting Force supports ex-Service personnel who have been wounded, injured or become sick during service by offering a route into civilian employment within the professional sports industry. They also provide education, exercise and social events to veterans and their families to relieve mental health issues and feelings of social isolation.
UDR & R IRISH (HS) Aftercare Service
Holistic welfare service provider for eligible veterans of the Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR) and the Royal Irish Regiment (Home Service) (R IRISH (HS)). We also provide help for those personnel being treated and prepared for discharge from the 38 Irish Brigade (38X) Personnel Recovery Unit (PRU).
Venture Trust is a Scottish charity organisation providing specialist support to ex-service men and women struggling with the transition to civilian life. Venture Trust’s Positive Futures programme for veterans offers three phase personal development and early stage employability programmes, centred on an intensive wilderness based personal development journey. The programme is based in Scotland but is available to all UK veterans.
Veterans Assist Scotland
Veterans Assist Scotland is an online information hub and signposting service for veterans and those supporting veterans. The Veterans Charity

Veterans Contact Point
Veterans Contact Point aims to help all serving members and veterans of the UK Armed Forces, their spouses, and dependents by working in partnership with others and other organisations to assist in the provision of schemes, grants, and services for their resettlement, rehabilitation, retraining, employment, and ongoing welfare. The service is available across the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire areas.
Veterans Employment Transition Support (VETS)
VETS is a coalition of partners who support all veterans as they seek to find the right job. The coalition consists of corporates from all industries, military charities, the MOD and the Career Transition Partnership. Together, through VETS, they provide an holistic approach that enhances existing activities. VETS recognises that every veteran's journey is unique. Therefore fundamental to the initiative is one-to-one mentorship throughout. Veterans can match with a mentor, find CV & interview workshops and apply for jobs. The VETS initiative continues to seek corporate and charity partners who share their passion for employing veterans.
Veterans HQ is a free and accessible one stop centre of support for ex-Armed Forces personnel, reservists and their families. The centre is run by a team of friendly staff who can provide information, advice and support on many areas relevant to the Armed Forces community such as welfare and benefits, housing, health and wellbeing, and employability. Drop-in sessions are available to those who need help with job applications and there is also a Custody Co-ordinator on-site for those who are in, or about to leave the criminal justice system. Veterans HQ also offer a health and wellbeing programme that includes access to a fitness centre, social activities, counselling and group therapy.
We offer specific support and guidance and also signpost to other organisations. We offer comradeship and friendship at both national and local level. We ensure we focus on all services, ranks and ages. We have regional organisers in all areas of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. They keep in contact with members living in their area and organise local events. At a national level, we organise events to include all members.

The West London Mission (WLM) has been serving people affected by homelessness, poverty and trauma since 1887. We are part of the Methodist Church and run a wide range of services which empower people to live more fulfilling lives.
Wirral Military Community Services
Wirral Military Community Services offer veteran outreach; one-stop Shop & Drop-In; employment support; enterprise start-up; signposting to Local Agencies; welfare benefits advice; MoD welfare pension advice drop-in; housing advice and support; healthy living advice and support; diet and PT advice; access to holistic therapies; and engaging with a diverse range of community-based projects.

Woody's Lodge is a support project for armed forces veterans, recent leavers, reservists and those serving in the emergency services. We provide friendships, humour, banter and 'brews', while ensuring your peace and safety, while allowing you to get on with day to day life at a place where listening and laughter play a big role in our daily activity. Woody's Lodge also helps with form filling (online and paper) with regards to appropriate benefits and entitlements.
