New theatre project from Cardboard Citizens provides unique opportunities for veterans

Cardboard Citizens are the UK's leading practitioner of Forum Theatre, a participatory theatre method where audience and actors work together to explore barriers and challenges, and possible ways to overcome them.

Following funding from the Royal British Legion the company is working closely with West London Mission and STOLL to promote a theatre project specifically aimed at all armed forces veterans.

Over 2 weeks (29 Oct - 9 Nov) veterans are encouraged to draw on their life experiences to create, rehearse and perform their own piece of Forum Theatre. There's also the opportunity to attend taster sessions before committing to the project.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform to an invited audience on 9 November at Theatre Deli in South London
  • Obtain an employability qualification (PEARL employability qualification (at level 1 or 2) accredited by GQAL)
  • Become Cardboard Citizens Members and access to further volunteering, employment and training opportunities in the arts and beyond.
